For students enrolled in the Bachelor of General Studies (B.G.S.) program, non-degree courses, or credit certificate programs, the Division has made decisions consistent with the University of Miami's proactive response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The measures outlined below are guided by the recommendations of leading health officials and by our priority to safeguard the health and well-being of our community. Outside of course instruction, all University operations will continue as normal, and faculty and staff are expected to maintain their normal work schedules and activities. To help faculty create online courses that engage learners, the Division's Distance Learning Institute (DLI) launched the DLI Online Course Development Series. The series offers open forums that focus on transitioning to a successful online learning model. To register for a session or learn more, visit dli.dcie.miami.edu. Additional resources for faculty members and students are located on the University's academic and business continuity site. Students have been sent an email from the B.G.S. and non-degree staff that indicate important next steps. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your B.G.S. team at bgs@miami.edu or 305-284-2727.
